Our Story

The Watson family has farmed this land since before Alberta was a province. Five generations later, we’re still here — raising bison the way our family has for decades, while being among the first to finish beef on grain in this region.

A century on the same Alberta land

We’ve worked this land for over a century — long enough to learn there are no shortcuts to a great steak. Today we finish 250+ head of bison a year on our own homegrown barley and oats, and age every steak 40 days for marbling and depth most bison never gets near.

Five generations, one family

The same family has worked this ground from the start — and our name is still on every cut that leaves the farm.

Our name is on every cut

We grain-finish for consistent, perfect marbling and age our steaks 40 days. We treat our animals humanely, give them room to roam, and add no added hormones or therapeutic antibiotics. We reserve the finest animals for our customers — families who share our values about what they put on the table.

Every cut leaves here under the Circle W brand. If it doesn’t meet your expectations, we’ll make it right. That’s a century-old promise.
